Do You Over Pillow?

Pillows are an excellent way to tie in or add color to a room. Nevertheless, the question for the ages is how many pillows - if any - should you use?

Most men accuse women of over pillowing.

Maybe they have something. Take a look at this pillowing advice from Better Homes and Gardens:
"Pile On the Pillows

Problem: The room doesn't feel inviting

Solution: Nothing is cozier than a pile of pillows. Gather pillows from around the room or house and arrange them on one sofa to add comfort and color. Choose pillows that have different patterns in complementary colors for a perfectly mismatched look.”

Where, exactly, are you supposed to sit on this pillowerific sofa?

My all time favorite commentary on pillowing phenomenon when has to be Steve’s comical rant about sofa pillows on Coupling

What do you think? Pillows. Love em or hate ‘em? How many are too many or just right?

  1. LOL coupling is one of my all time fave TV Shows. as far as pillowsI checked I have two on my sofa. THey where cushions from another piece of furniture. I use them when I lie prone on said sofa. for my head. And sammy cat requires pillows to lounge on, Romeo could care less.

  2. I agree with Rob! Coupling is awesome! If this is all you have seen of it, watch it!

I love pillows hehe. I don't have that many really but I do love them.

  3. My favorite part of Steve's rant is when he says that sofas are good for hiding from Daleks. That was before the new Dr. Who series so I don't know how many people got it at the time in the US.

We have 2 pillows on my sofa. They tie in the color from the occasional chairs on the other side of the room.

  4. I love the rant. I will confess that I have several pillows on my sofa and I even have pillows on my chairs. In my defense I use them. I have short legs and without a pillow (or two) behind me for support, I am perched. Also I have two cats that would be very unhappy if there was not an abundance of pillows for their napping/lounging comfort

  5. I have one pillow on my couch and I use it between me and the arm of the couch. As I look around the room, that's all I've got.

I've never seen Coupling, but I have heard it's funny - the clip you showed was hysterical!

  6. Pillows are definitely a great inexpensive way to give a room a finished look. However, I cannot stand going into someone's home and they have so many oversized pillows that you cannot sit down without ruining their "arrangement." Everything in moderation.
