Husband and I spent a day visiting the Smithsonian Museum
of Natural History ‘cuz Husband loves him some fossils and dinos.
Rowr!
After a peek at The Hope Diamond in its new setting, Husband
and I walked into the Hall of Gemstones.
I expected to see a hall of jewelry. Instead, I found a
gallery of raw gemstones with such intense color and texture I instinctively
took photos to add to my design inspiration file.
Drool with me.
Have you ever, EVER seen a blue this deep and intense? Lurv.
This piece of Canvasite is the same color scheme in my guest bathroom.
I wear this color a lot. I can see the texture in this chunk of Pyrmorphine inspiring retro mod graphic wallpaper.
I like the orange red of Crocoite. The star burst crystals pattern drew me to this piece. I need to use this as inspiration in some way, shape, or form in my house.
The papery crystals in Wuflenite remind me of a feather boa.
I don't want antimony anywhere near me and mine, but it's quite stunning design-wise in its natural state.
Where do you look for color inspiration?

We went to DC not to long ago - the Smithsonian was amazing! I could have spent our whole trip browsing around all the museums.
