Painting the accent wall snowballed into more projects. Since I already had my tools out I painted the fireplace and shelves. I got a completely new room for the cost of paint.
You can see how damaged my wall was from our builder watering down cheap paint. Those dark marks in the Before picture are the original drywall.
Since some of my project inspiration came from paint projects on line by real people and not professional designers (sorry designers), I paid the inspiration love forward by uploading my accent wall project to My Colortopia Show Your Colors.
Show Your Colors is the newest addition to My Colortopia. You can search for projects by color or room. You also can upload your Before and After paint project photos of any room or object if you’re in a showing your colors kind of mood.
I embedded the Show Your Colors widget below if you want to check it out.
It’s easy to add a project to Show Your Colors. After you log in to or create a My Colortopia account, click the Submit Your Before & Afters button.
I uploaded my painted filing cabinet and chalkboard back splash after I checked out the other projects.
Give everything a once over, preview your work, and accept the terms and conditions. Once you are sure everything has your official okey dokey click the Submit My Entry button to send your project to Show Your Colors.
Then be inspired by clicking around Show Your Colors to see all of the other Before and After projects!
