Easy Blog Conference T Shirt

Summer is blog conference season. Yippie for meeting on line friends in person and networking and learning how to be a better blogger!

Not so yippie in trying to find your on line friends in the crowd and making sure they can find you. Last year at Blogher12 Laura from Pet Scribbles and I kept missing each other all day every day of the conference although Margaret from Nanny Goats and Panties and I always seem to find each other each year. Do you know why? Because Margaret is as smart as she is funny. Margaret wears a shirt with her blog name on it.

My new Condo Blues t shirt! I'll get to the kooky color hair in a minute.

While I'm a DIYer all the way, most of the DIY t shirt options are not as professional looking as I want when I'm advertising my blogs.

A little research had me placing a custom order with  t shirt maker Allied Shirts because I can get a shirt in a color other than white. They don't charge extra for multiple ink colors or for printing on a bright or dark colored shirt because those shirt colors require you to do an extra screen of white under the design so it shows up on the shirt.

After looking at the t shirt and sweatshirt styles, I went with an American Apparel girly T because it is made in the US and shows off the weight I no longer carry with me. I selected a vibrate blue shirt to coordinate with the Condo Blues logo and to stand out from everyone else who is most likely wearing white promotional t shirts because white is cheaper to print.

I uploaded a .gif of the Condo Blues logo, picked a size, amount (one,) and done! Price wise, Allied Shirts is in line with the other small print on demand places who don't have the large colored shirt selection that Allied shirts has.

Also Allied shirts is a division of my favorite sign maker Build A Sign. I used Build A sign to make a custom metal sign for my workshop, I had their banner maker folks make me a magnetic car sign  to advertise Condo Blues and Lazy Budget Chef while I'm driving around town.  Build A Sign also printed and sponsored my business cards last year. So why not go with them when I need a Condo Blues t shirt?

I have one little problem though. Does my hair color clash with the color of my new t shirt?

I wasn't planning on sporting maraschino red hair during Blogher13 and when I ordered my shirt. Then my marching band asked me at the last minute to do the Columbia tap dance when we played Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show during a recent performance. Dying my hair gave me the look the audience would recognize because my build-Columbia-in-half-a-day costume wasn't 100% movie accurate.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen
my friends compare my hair color to a jar of maraschino cherries.

It all turned out OK in the end though.

Manic Panic is a demi permanent hair dye that rates a 3 on the Skin Deep database so no worries about toxicity. The worry is trying to coordinate my new crazy hair color with my current wardrobe until the dye washes out which, based on the time I dyed my hair blue, won't be for a very long time.

What do you think?

Disclosure: Allied Shirts sent me a sample product for this review. This did not influence my opinion and as always all opinions are 100% mine.
