I grabbed an empty mason jar from the cupboard and filled it with the shaving cream, screwed the blender bottom onto the jar, and popped the lot onto the blender. I'm using a mason jar on my blender until I remember to order a replacement glass top for my blender. The glass blender pitcher broke when it flew out of the cabinet to attack me and fell to its death on the floor.
A large mason jar fits on a blender in a pinch
I turn the blender on and hit the Mix button. The blender goes through the slow mix, violent whip up, slow down, and stop cycle as I stand over it to baby sit and check the results.
It is thickish but not enough. I hit the button again and watch over the blender.
Close but not quite.
More more blend cycle should do it.
I press the button a third time and figure I can load the dishwasher while I'm waiting for the shaving cream to cream. Lookit me being all multitasky!
My blender still hates me from thwarting its attempt on my life and wanted to get even. The bottom of the blender loosened during the violent whip cycle, and well, this happened.
The fuzzy spots in the photo are shaving cream on my camera lens.
How is your Monday?

OMG, I'm speechless. I hope your day improved!!
So nice to see that I'm not the only one who does this kind of stuff. Will you try it again when you get a replacement glass I wonder?

Thanks for the laugh! I hate it when inanimate objects try to kill me.
My husband really likes the JR Liggett shampoo bar for shaving. It's all natural and lasts forever. Just so you can avoid another DIY disaster!
I've been using the mason jar on my blender for awhile without any issues. The problem was I didn't screw the bottom onto the jar tightly enough. I didn't keep my hand on top of the jar which I have to do for the regular glass pitcher or it will unscrew a bit but never like this!
I made another batch after I cleaned the kitchen. We hated it. It gunked up Husband's razor and was hard to rinse out of the razor. I used the rest of it to shave my legs and had the same problem. I got Husband a bristle brush and shaving soap to try.
I wanted to get my husband to stop using foam shaving cream because of the chemicals. First, we went to some natural shaving cream, which he just did not like. Then we tried regular soap, but there wasn't enough "glide". Finally, he starting using the hair conditioner we get in bulk and he actually commented recently that he really does like that. I also use it for shaving. It's great because we can have multi-use products in the bathroom rather than a bunch of things that can only be used for one purpose.
