DIY His and Hers Diva, Maestro Signs

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape brand painter’s tape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

While shifting items around in my craft room I found two blank plaques I bought to make His and Hers signs for the house. I figure it is about time I do the project but with a twist. Instead of labeling our items His and Hers, I invoked our old renaissance festival characters and made Diva and Maestro  signs.

How to Make Diva and Maestro Signs

You will need:
2 blank wood or paperboard sign blanks
FrogTape painter’s tape
White paint
Black paint
Paint brush
The words "Diva" and "Maestro" laser printed black  ink on white paper
Pencil
Scissors
Decoupage medium
2 saw tooth hangers
Hammer

Make it:
1. Paint the sign blanks with the white paint and paint brush and allow them to dry.

2. Mask the top and bottom edge of the signs with FrogTape®.   FrogTape® is treated with a paint blocking polymer that forms a mirco-barrier at the edges of the tape to prevent seeping and keeps your paint lines crisp.

Not being able to get a crisp painted edge with regular painter's tape is the reason why it took me so long to get around to this project.

3. Paint the edges of the sign blanks with two coats of black paint.

4. Remove the  FrogTape® while the second coat of black paint is still wet and allow the paint to dry.
5. Trace the shape of the sign around the Diva and Maestro printouts with the pencils
6. Cut out the sign shapes with the scissors.
7. Use the decoupage medium and a paint brush to glue one paper cut out to the top of each sign and allow it to dry.
8. Use the hammer to attach a saw tooth picture hanger to the back of each sign.
9. Hang it up!
