I didn’t mourn the loss for long. I need a bunch of big ol’ princess rings for my Halloween and renaissance festival costumes and with a little crafty DIY I made my broken earring into a statement ring.
Parading around the grounds with the Queen and court!
You will need the following supplies for this project:
Ring banks – I had to buy ring blanks and settings on line here because absolutely non of my craft stores had them in the jewelry making section of the store. I used a special this exact ring blank with a setting for a stone to make the light green ring.
Heavy duty wire cutters
Earrings, Cabochons Stones (Fire Mountain Gems has the best and prettiest selection IMHO), pendants, and/or Oval Glass faceted Rhinestones with a sew-on metal cup Like this one – the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

Step by Step How to Make this Project:
An example of what I used to make my upcycled princess rings!
2. Use all four sides of the the nail bock on the sharp cut metal to file, smooth, buff, and shine the area if necessary
3. Use the File side of the nail block to rough up the top of the ring blank and flat metal bottom of the surface you are using for your statement ring to give the E6000 something to grip and create a better bond.
4. Use the E6000 to glue the surface to the ring blank and allow the glue to dry thoroughly before wearing.
Tip: The back of the pearl pendant had a series of metal bumps on the back that didn’t allow me to glue the pendant flush to the ring blank ulike the dark green rhinestones. I cut a small piece of velvet (because that is what I had on hand at the time) and glued it to the underside of the ring blank and to the pendant, making a jewelry sandwich to encourage the different surfaces to stick together.5. Wear your bling ring!
