3 DIY Coffee Drink Recipes

Coffee isn’t just good for your plants; it’s now a health food drink!

To celebrate that my java habit is no longer a vice (thank you researchers! I’m adding you to my Christmas card list!), I give you three coffee drink recipes that will help you achieve your heart-healthy RDA of coffee goodness.

1. Coffee Mocha Latte, coffee + chocolate = the perfect food

½ cup hot strong coffee
½ cup chocolate milk
Whipped cream (optional)
Chocolate sprinkles (optional)
  • Pour the hot coffee into a coffee mug and add the chocolate milk (you can froth the chocolate milk mixture first if you like.)
  • If desired, float whipped cream to the top of the coffee and add chocolate sprinkles (or jimmies or jammies or whatever you not-living-in-the-Midwest-types call chocolate shavings.)

2. Tijunan Café, a coffee cocktail

2/3 cup of hot black coffee
1 part Kahlua
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 cinnamon stick
Whipped cream (optional)

  • Pour the hot coffee into a coffee mug.
  • Stir the Kahlua and sugar into the hot coffee with the cinnamon stick.
  • If desired, float whipped cream to the top of the coffee and stir a second time with the cinnamon stick.

3. Vietnamese-style Coffee Popsicles, Step off kid - this popsicles’ for grownups!

Though I don't drink a lot of coffee, I love it. Love the taste and love the smell! I'll keep drinking it!
