How to Make a Bottle Cap Tile Picture Frame

Every Friday Husband and I have a TGIF ritual. We drink a few dark craftbeers to celebrate that fact that we both made it through yet another often-crazy week.

One Friday I came back from Trader Joe’s with a six-pack of Sea Dog Porter (because unlike college days, it’s all about the quality, not the quantity of the beer.) Husband jokingly accused me of buying Sea Dog because of its paw print bottle caps. He asked me if it was some sort of homage to Blitzkrieg.

Busted.

Then Husband says, "These bottle caps are cool though. I bet you could do something with these." So I did.

My apologies for the photo quality, I had to use my phone for this photo.

How to Make a Bottle Cap Tile Picture Frame

Materials
Picture frame
Craft paint
Paint brush
12 bottle caps
Three to four wine corks
A small hack saw or Dremel tool
Hot glue

Make It
  1. Paint the picture frame and let the paint dry. I painted mine blue to match the blue paw prints on the bottle caps.

  2. Cut the wine corks into approximately ¼ inch slices with the small hacksaw or Dremel tool.

  3. Use the hot glue to attach one slice of wine cork into one bottle cap to make a bottle cap tile.

  4. Repeat Step 3 to turn all of your remaining wine corks slices and bottle caps into tiles.

  5. Use the hot glue to attach each bottle cap tile to the picture frame.

  6. Put a photo into the picture frame, stand back, and admire or give it to a friend.
