Fortunately, Blitzkrieg is now back to his fine and fluffy self. My carpeting is another story. I spent an entire afternoon steam cleaning pet stains on the carpeting by the front door. I couldn’t move on to the rest of the living room or house like I normally do. We lived with the living room in the kitchen for several days. And then our bedroom in the computer room. And then the computer room in our bedroom. And then the guest/sewing room in our bedroom.
This is about the time I was considering maid service. Or a box of matches.
I took advantage of the situation to play with a new furniture space plan for the living room. Later I moved all of the furniture back to its original place because I had furniture leg indentations in the carpeting and I did not know how to fluff the carpet back up.
I might have added an easy jujz to my room if I found these Molly Cleaning Tip Institute Videos earlier. Oh well. I’m embedding it for you in case you are in the same carpet indent situation and for the next time I borrow a steam cleaner and clean the carpets.
I did a little poking around Molly Maid and found a several cleaning tip videos that could make life easier. I pinned How to Remove Coffee Table Crop Signs and How to Remove Body Oil from Clothes to my Pinterest boards (follow me on Pinterest? Pretty please?) so I would remember them.
I did some more checking around Molly Maid and found they have a green cleaning option where they use nontoxic green cleaners. Huh. Who’d thunk it? I never expected there would be a conventional cleaning service that uses the type of cleaners I only allow in my home. I wonder if that extends to carpets…

My favorite tip: I put dryer sheets in the bottom of my garbage cans between the can and the bag (2 or 3 sheets)..it helps absorb leaks, prevents leak stains and also makes the cans smell fresh.

tip: I use rubbing alcohol to get rid of streaks on mirrors.

My favorite cleaning tip would be to use vinegar and water to clean mirrors and surfaces,
Fill a spray bottle half way full with water. Then fill the rest of the spray bottle with vinegar. Shake well.

My favorite cleaning tip is to use the old fabric softner sheets from the dryer, and throw them in the bottom of your garbage can (outside the bag). It helps keep it smelling fresh!

My favorite cleaning trick -- Using magic eraser foam to get sharpie pen off of walls and furniture. It's saved me more times that I'd like to admit.

My favorite cleaning tip: Don't have kids. Seriously, they're messy little buggers.
If you find yourself with offspring, might I suggest buying bars of white Dove soap? That stuff is gentle on most fabrics but cleans every stain I've ever met.
I use borax as a laundry booster and to clean my tub.

I recently learned that a good soap scum cleaner is part Dawn dish washing liquid, part vinegar and part water. It works!
Thanks for the giveaway, Lisa!
Not so sure it's a tip but I love using Swiffer dry pads when cleaning. They get up so much more dirt/dust than sweeping or regular dusting alone!

My favorite cleaning tip has to do with washing windows. Because of allergies and pollen I like to wash my window screens.
prior to washing the windows, I raise every screen an inch or so, then shut all of the windows. I then go around the outside of the house with the garden hose (NOT pressure washer) and hose all around the outside of the windows.
This clears all the spider webs and pollen and other allergens from the screens. By raising the screens, the water easily runs off, making it easier to clean the window sills.
whoa... that was a lot of details. have I done it lately? nope not in the last 6 weeks. I'm due to do it again.
thanks!

Magic Eraser gets out red sharpie on a white wall :)
Thanks for the chance to win. My tip is... I use a swiffer wet mop to clean my bathroom walls and ceiling. I don't need a step stool to reach anything.
I keep baking soda in a handy shaker near the sink, so I can scrub the sink without lots of chemicals. I think I got the shaker idea on Pinterest.
my cleaning tip is to schedule a day to do different chores and then stick to it.

I hate cleaning so I can't say that I have a favorite cleaning tip. I do have to say that I use vinegar wherever I can for a non-toxic clean.

My favorite tip is easy.. and hard all at the same time. After doing a WEEK LONG cleaning of my house just doing a bit each day has kept it perfect.. amazing really for someone who used to be a crisis cleaner.. but just about 15minutes a day and it stay quite clean.. amazing..
I am so not a domestic diva - I use a cleaning service every two weeks - but I am fanatic about keeping our clothes perfect, so my tip is to keep a sewing kit handy in your laundry room so that you can make little fixes like reinforcing a button as soon as you see them. (If you wait, you might lose the button before you get it done.)

sorry, but I don't yet tweet and can't do facebook at work. I use baking soda for everything. It especially gets the coffee stains out of my old sink.

My favorite tip is after you are cutting garlic or onions, you rub your hands onto the chrome kitchen faucet. The odor disappears from your hands!
